D-10 Caterpillar was brought to the site on two semi-truck flatbeds. A crane was brought in to help assemble the D-10. |

Boulders up to 8 feet in diameter were removed from the roadway. Some of the rocks will be used as part of the landscaping designs. |

A drill was used to collect soil samples
that will be used to identify where soft spots are and
to determine the depth of rock. In some areas the ground
rock was up to two feet deep. (Now we know why local farmers
didn’t farm this area, there isn’t any dirt!) |

Drilling equipment was also used to conduct seismic testing to determine earthquake results. The resulting information will be used when designing the grandstands. |

When the geotechnical investigation and analysis was completed 31 test pits were dug along with 8 borings for soil and rock samples. |

Soft spots on the course were tested for water seepage. Test
results are provided to the track designers to make adjustments
if needed in track layout. |
